Everything you need to start teaching Spelling Shed tomorrow!

This training is ideal for schools that are new to Spelling Shed and want to hit the ground running.

• Learn how to use Spelling Shed to teach all the spelling skills, including phonics and morphology
• Walk through the lesson plans with our expert trainers guiding you through the purpose of each step
• Essential tools on the EdShed website to set home learning through Spelling Shed games
• Using our Baseline and End of Term assessments for monitoring class progress and identifying gaps

Leading the Way to Successful Spelling

This online training is designed for English Leaders or Writing Leaders in primary schools to understand how to implement improvements in one of the key transcriptional areas of the English writing curriculum.You do not need to be a Spelling Shed school for this training.

Part 1

• Evaluating current practice in place
• Considering the big questions for curriculum within the context of your setting
• Planning your year as subject leader: how to begin implementing change successfully, including staff development and avoiding common implementation challenges
• What you don’t need to be doing and where you can save staff time and curriculum time

Optional Midway Check-In

Part 2

• Feeling prepared for inspection, what you need to know as a leader and what other staff members need to know
• Case studies of schools that had implementation challenges and how to address them
• Looking back at the year, evaluating what worked
• Preparing for the next stage in your implementation journey

This training package includes a complete presentation designed to help you confidently deliver a training session to other staff members.
